Nancy Wake

Nancy Wake (1912-2011) served as a British Special Operations Executive during World War II and became a leading figure of the marquis groups of the French Resistance. She was born in New Zealand but lived in Sydney, Australia, with her family from the ages of 2 to 16. Wake was one of the Allies’ most decorated servicewomen of the war.
